Welcome to FireEscape Garden!

Apr 09 2008 | Category :: General

Welcome to FireEscape Garden, our little oasis in urban Williamsburg. This site will feature updates to our garden featuring organic and hard-to-find heirloom varietals. We will keep you apprised of our progress from planting through harvest and consumption, and feature recipes using harvested edibles from the garden as well as items found locally in our neighborhood. You should expect these recipes to include food items that you might not be able to find on store shelves, but these ingredients can undoubtedly be substituted with more readily available items.

Stick with us throughout the remaining spring and summer as we bring to life plants and flowers you may not have ever seen before!

Thanks,

The FireEscape Garden Team

    i wish to partake in the gardening & surrounding festivities.. since i live directly below the escape and all…

    also, i know a little supperclub that would be pleased as punch to serve some locally grown heirloom varietals.

    spring is certainly in the air…

    Hello!

    I am so excited to see that you have a fire escape garden in the works and hopefully it is flourishing and starting to provide many fruits of your labor! I am coming to NYC to film portions of my documentary about living a more sustainable life starting with the food you eat. I think it’s important for urban dwellers to see what others are doing to raise fresh herbs and veggies so they can get inspired and not feel so limited by the space they have. If you have any interest in sharing your green thumb, please get in touch with me. I will be in BK Sept 15-18.

    Thanks so much!
