Lots of Work to Be Done
Judging from this picture, it is apparent that there is much work to be done. Pictured are the remnants of gardens past, what became a tedious and unscalable operation involving too many separate and shallow planters. This year’s garden will comprise mostly one self-contained fabricated bed, approximately 12″x3′x8′. Or in other words, 24 cubic feet of soil. Some plants requiring special care will still sit in their own planters, but most of the food production will occur in the new main bed.
Spec plans for the garden bed will be posted soon.

I’d be careful about not to make that new bed will too big, might end up being to heavy for the fire escape. If you want it that big look inot using light weight soil mixtures to lessen the weight.
