First Batch of Seeds Arrived Today!
Thank goodness for the Seed Savers Exchange, an invaluable resource of rare, heirloom and organic varieties of just about everything. I went a little overboard, I think, and bought more seeds than I could possibly grow. However, I hope to transplant some of my plantlings to friends’ garden once they have sprouted in their indoor planters. Here’s a list of the seeds I bought:
Scarlet Nantes Carrot
Chioggia Beet
Seed Savers Lettuce Mixture
Dwarf Blue Curled Scotch Kale
Amish Snap Pea
Red Habanero Pepper
Thai Hot Pepper
Blue Podded Pea
Amish Paste Tomato
Japanese Trifele Black Tomato
Large Red Cherry Tomato
Purple Russian Tomato
Red Zebra Tomato
Cilantro
Catnip
Thai Basil
Genovese Basil
Rosemary
Giant from Italy Parsley
Sensitive Plant
Stay tuned for more updates as I get these seeds planted. Some need to be planted now, while others such as the peppers and herbs still need warmer weather. As well, the carrots and the beets will require the deeper soil to be provided by the new garden bed, yet to be constructed.

Hi, I’m relatively new to gardening (this is my second year). All of my plants are in containers on my small front porch. So far this year my main crop has been the Amish Snap Pea and I really like it! Even though peas are a cool weather crop, it has done pretty well even with highs in the 80’s. The peas are delicious! My point is… make sure to save room for the peas. They’ll make it worth your while.
